#RnRVirtualRun Making a Band: Guitar Solo 5K Virtual Run Recap

Good news for all my runner friends who can't pull off a racecation this year: Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon series now offers virtual races!

Virtual races are a great alternative to destination races when time and money are not your side. You're free to run on your own time and at a convenient location without having to worry about the hassle of bib pick-up or race day parking.

Did I mention medals?

Rock 'n' Roll takes bling seriously! Those who registered for all three races earn a 4th "Making the Band" medal. In addition to a finisher medal, registered runners receive a digital bib, online finisher's zone, a finisher's certificate and a shopping discount.

Did I mention prizes?

Upload photos from your run with the hashtag #RnRVirtualRun for a chance to win a complimentary race entry, VIP race treatment or gear.

As a member of the #RocknBlog team I received complimentary entry into the virtual races and finished up race one last week. Guitar Solo 5K - done!

I ran around a track enjoying the cloudy sky and cool breeze. It was the perfect break from the heat! My run was simple and easy - the first mile I chased Pokemon, the second mile I stopped to watch my honey work, by the time I started the third mile I was ready to run another 3. I felt really good but I stopped at the 5K since I had plans that day. I might bump up the miles for the next two races depending on how they fit into my Disneyland Paris training.

The Drum Solo virtual race dates are July 21 - August 14. Who else is in!? There's still time to join in on the fun! Visit the website to register and learn more.

See you on the trails!
