Anaheim 1 Monster Energy Supercross Recap
I started off the night visiting & catching up with my Fox Racing friends in the pits. As usual, the Fox Bus team provided great hospitality to the employees and friends of Fox with a BBQ tailgate. It is always a guranteed good time with this amazing crew of Supercross fans. I am glad they are always just a race away.
A huge fan supercross himself, Mr. Jamie Spears was also on hand for the first race of the Supercross season. Although I couldn't find out who his favorite to win was, I was able to get some good information out of him regarding cooking. He shared a recipe with NoTwitterTodd that I love and I'm looking forward to adding a few more to our rotation. The plan is to learn Cajun style cooking from him while in Daytona later this year for the Daytona Supercross.
After spending time in the pits visiting with friends, colleagues and race fans, we made our way up to the suite, took our seats and watched the gate drop! No mud in sight. The drought in California brought us super dry race conditions - a bit rare here in the past.
The 450SX Main started off with Villopoto looking really strong, but Ken Roczen was right there along side him. When Villopoto crashed, Ken took the lead. James Stewart worked his way up to the 2nd place spot leaving Dungey and Reed to battle for 3rd. It looked like Stewart might take over Ken and win A1, but a crash left him unable to finish. The final result? Roczen, Dungey, Reed. A full 1, 2, 3 podium win for Fox Racing!
Huge congrats to Ken Roczen for winning his rookie debut!! I'm looking forward to the rest of the season. You never know what will happen when the gate drops!
